NAME: Peter J. MacDonald OCCUPATION: Owner and hairstylist of EDUCATION: • B.A. from University of Toronto, majoring in French EXPERIENCE: I served an apprenticeship at the prestigious Holt Renfrew Salon, in Toronto, Ontario, for two years with artistic director John Caputi. I was sent on a two month apprenticeship exchange at the prestigious Daniel Galvin salon, in London, England. Worked with salon owner and Contessa winning stylist, Michael Volpe, at Private Lines salon, in the upscale Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario. Stare Hair, sole proprietor and stylist, in Toronto since 2003. BIO: I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in the beautiful bluffs district, in the suburb of Scarborough; close to the beaches. The real highlight during my apprenticeship, at Holt Renfrew, was traveling to London, England and working at the Daniel Galvin salon. It is my opinion that some of the best hairstylists in the world are based in London. For the first seven years I gained experience as a hairstylist working at salons in downtown Toronto and then I decided to fulfill some of my musical aspirations of performing, traveling and teaching music. During this time I continued to work as a freelance mobile stylist, worked on a cruise ship as a musical performer, traveled throughout southern Ontario performing in different tribute bands and traveled throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe. STARE HAIR! was born in 2003 in the east end of Toronto on the Danforth. My clientele was excellent, very supportive, but it was my love of Beautiful British Columbia that propelled my wife and I to relocate to Kelowna. We like the sun! In April of 2005 I got married in Maui, Hawaii and shortly thereafter, took a trip to Kelowna. It was through a series of interactions with locals that led me to The Cannery Lofts. It was at that moment I discovered STARE HAIR! in Kelowna which I hear is also known as the “Maui of Canada”! Welcome to
