Peter J. MacDonald
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and grew up in the suburb of Scarborough.
I am the owner and hairstylist of 
Received a B.A. from University of Toronto, majoring in French.
Completed a certificate in hairstyling from George Brown College, Toronto, followed by two years of apprenticeship in a salon.
Recipient of a valid hairstyling license, as governed by the Ontario Trades and Apprenticeship Board (OTAB), since January, 1997.
Served an apprenticeship at the prestigious Holt Renfrew Salon, in Toronto, Ontario, for two years with artistic director John Caputi.
Worked with salon owner and Contessa winning stylist, Michael Volpe, at Private Lines salon, in the upscale Yorkville neighbourhood of Toronto.
During my apprenticeship at Holt Renfrew, I was sent on a month long apprenticeship exchange at the Daniel Galvin salon, in London, England; as part of an educational exchange program with their Toronto salon. London is one of the world's great cities and I am very grateful to have had this experience.
For the first seven years I gained experience as a hairstylist working at salons in downtown Toronto and then I decided to fulfill some of my musical aspirations of performing, travelling and teaching music. During this time I continued to work as a freelance mobile stylist, worked on a cruise ship as a musical performer, travelled throughout southern Ontario performing in different tribute bands and travelled throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
STARE! Hair was established in 2003 on Danforth Ave. in Toronto east. My clientele was excellent, very supportive, but it was my curiousity about life in British Columbia that inspired my wife and I to relocate to Kelowna. We like the sun!
Upon completion of a two year lease, I was inspired to move to Kelowna after coming for a visit and finding a desirable location to relocate my business. Since 2006, Kelowna has been my home.
In April of 2005, we married in Maui, in 2006 we came to the west, in 2009 our son Rhodes was born and in 2011 we passed the milestone of 5 years in business at the Cannery Lofts!
